Elland is a market town that sits on the South bank of the River Calder within the borough of Calderdale. Located between the larger towns of Halifax and Huddersfield and also within close proximity of the M62 motorway network, making it an ideal base for those looking to commute to Leeds and Manchester.
Elland was a centre of wool production with many of its large mills now converted into residential accommodation. Other buildings of interest include the Parish church of Saint Mary the virgin, Elland Town Hall, Southgate Methodist Church, the reputedly haunted The Fleece Inn and the early 1900s picture house now known as the Rex cinema.
Following the construction of the Elland bypass in the 1970s and the Lowfields Business Park in the 1990s, the town has become a bustling area for industry. Further development continues within the town centre which offers a wide range of family, run shops, cafes and businesses with the upcoming proposed development of the new Elland railway station, which will provide further links to Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and further afield.
With its own golf club, cricket and bowling clubs, Elland has lots of leisure on its doorstep with walkers and cyclists able to access the Calder & Hebble Navigation as well as the nearby Calderdale Way.
We are proud holders of various industry awards, giving you peace of mind that we work in your best interest.
