Despite many reports in the media, we are pleased to say January has been a busy month in the property market!
Speaking about the bounce back, Paul Keighley, our residential partner, says:
"Mortgage rates are falling. They have declined by almost a full percentage point since they peaked in November. Experts predict they may come down by a further 0.5% over the next month.
"This is giving potential buyers the confidence to return to the market. There is always a 'New year bounce', but this is the biggest one I've ever experienced in the 30 years since I've worked at Bramleys. Not only are we seeing people enquire about the properties we have on the market, but homeowners are also actively listing their properties for sale.
"In two days, we had listed half the number of properties we would normally list in a full month, at one of our branches.
"It is a good time to buy and sell; the important thing to remember is that it's important to be realistic with what you expect to fetch for your own home. Don't be drawn in by agents who offer something unrealistic, as your property will sit on the market unsold."
If you are looking to sell your home, get in touch. Bramleys has been independently named West Yorkshire’s best agent by an independent panel of industry experts, mystery shoppers, and best of all, YOU, the public.
